Q&A: Is anyone else getting tired of hearing the phrases, “right-wing extremism” and “hate radio”?
Question by It’s over 9000!: Is anyone else getting tired of hearing the phrases, “right-wing extremism” and “hate radio”?
Liberals want to say that the Republican Party and conservative talk radio is to blame for all violence against liberals. Do they not realize that every political affiliation has it’s share of extremists? Does it seem like “right-wing extremists” is being used to describe all conservatives? What are your thoughts on this?
Chewy Ivan: I don’t believe Republicans are completely right. I believe most Republicans and Democrats are both crooks. It’s the generalization of all conservatives being extremists that makes me angry.
Oh and by the way Chewy Ivan: Your statement about right-wing extremists being more violent than left-wing extremists, that’s a lie and you know it.
Hey Chewy: I don’t assume all liberals are the same. As far as an example of a left wing extremist, look up Bill Ayers.
I forgot to thank the fellow “right-wing extremists” for answering my question and giving me stars. I really appreciate it.

Q&A: “Acculturation = dictatorship ?
Question by jessie_ann2: “Acculturation = dictatorship ?
“Acculturation – the processes of change in artifacts, customs, and beliefs that result from the contact of societies with different cultural traditions. The term is also used to refer to the result of such changes.” -Britannica
Now call me what you like, but I got bored the other day and was reading the volume 1 of Britannica when I stubbled on this word. Yes I read it because I was bored: I do that to stimulate my brain. I could be a waste and do that with drugs like 90% of the people in the next town but I actually care about my body.
Anyway, after reading it I got to thinking about Hitler. And before you say it no, I’m not. He went and killed millions of people because he believed in this superior being, and got fellow idiots to follow what he believed. Now he was taking over many different societies while doing this, killing those who disagreed or just didnt fit his ” superior race” . Rather it be from fear of being killed he still convinced these people to believe what he believed. HHmmmm…are you thinking what I’m thinking?? ” Acculturation” . Britannica seems to say its something along those lines. Ask anybody who is ignorant enough to believe that there are still inferior people out there and they might to. How do I know you ask….. because you guessed it, I asked people. While some say “culture had nothing to do with it” others say he was ” purifing the earth”. Whatever you feel is your perogative, I’m not going to tell you you are right or wrong. Quite frankly I dont care if you hate or love anybody or everybody. Now when you read more about it it says it is common among people who are minority. Imagine that. Hitler had a huge army of idiots that followed him making everybody else pretty much minority (until of course what ended it all I know.). In schools all over they tech you to refer to this as a “dictator” , Britannica gave a comparison I think is much of the same. Granted dictators use excessive force but they do still ” change customs and beliefs” .
So Hitler, a culturalist ? Whats your thoughts?

Acculturation means something different. What you’re describing with Hitler is him establishing “Hegemony”. Acculturation is more benevolent while hegemony is more aggressive. Examples:
Acculturation – Eastern European immigrants to the U.S. around the first half of the 1900s. They came from a culture very different from what we had here during that time. At first they banded together in their own communities in an attempt to maintain their traditions, language, etc. Eventually, though, the overwhelming American culture they found themselves in assimilated them. Now, you go to the Great Lakes area of the country and meet someone with a last name like “Sikorski” (Polish) and you wouldn’t be able to tell them apart from the average American.
Hegemony: “preponderant influence or authority over others: domination” and/or “the social, cultural, ideological, or economic influence exerted by a dominant group” (From Websters). Hitler would be inaccurate, though, because he didn’t really force people to go along with his will and change their culture. Czechs were still Czechs, Poles still Poles, French still French, etc and he did not enjoy large popular support from the conquered countries. A better example would be Soviet Russia and the Iron Curtain.
Sorry! that got long.
